THERE are four meetings across the country today, with a couple of high class contests at Ayr and Ripon leading the way.

The Sunracing team have been studying the form and below are some of the best bets and each-way shots for the day.

Ayr

Best bet

2.05 Mecca's Spirit - Impressive over course and distance last month, when the application of blinkers appeared to make a big difference. Not so good last time but she missed the break and did well to get as close as she did. Likely to prove hard to beat if breaking on terms this time.

3.40 Kings Gift - Gradually coming back to form this season and his performance when third in a similar race to this was a big step in the right direction. Should be able to come on again take this Class 3 prize.

Best bet

3.55 Roundhead - Struck at the first time of asking for trainer Grant Tuer at Musselburgh last week and was well on top at the finish. Gone up six pounds for that but he could be progressive enough to go in once more.

Each-way

4.30 Sooqaan - Antony Brittain has his string in really good form at the moment and his seven-year-old can strike here. His turf mark is over twenty pounds below his all-weather mark for good reason, but he is nevertheless very well handicapped and only got swamped late last time. A handy 3lb claim can help him get back on the score-sheet.

Windsor

Best bet

7.00 Midnight Meeting - Hayley Turner gets a rare ride for Godolphin and she can guide her unexposed mount to victory. Two wins in novice stakes races have marked him out as a decent sort and he can defy what would appear to be a tough opening mark.

Each-way

6.30 Water Diviner - Contested some hot races since winning his second outing and is better than he showed last time at Glorious Goodwood. Now tackles a handicap for the first time and has a good chance of rediscovering the winning thread.

Wolverhampton

Best bet

6.10 Dutch Monarch - Showed much improved form to land handicap over course and distance recently. Sir Mark Prescott will almost certainly eke at least another win out of her and this race looks no stronger than the last.

Each-way

8.10 Dark Alliance-  Not run brilliantly on his last few starts but is at his best on Tapeta and now returns to a track where he has already won three times this year. Still on a decent mark and should run better than his price.
