Chelsea face nervous wait to see if they can sell tickets for FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Pala

CHELSEA fans are waiting to find out whether or not the club will be allowed to sell tickets for their FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.

The Blues have been drawn against Patrick Vieira's side in the last four and are set to face them on the weekend of the 16th and 17th of April.

SunSport understands a decision on Chelsea's ticket allocation will be made during the international break.

But the decision will be made by the government and not the FA as the sanctions imposed on Chelsea are from Downing Street.

Only 600 Chelsea fans were present for their quarter-final tie away at Middlesbrough on Saturday after the sanctions were placed upon them.

When Chelsea were banned from selling tickets, the club asked for the match to be played behind closed doors to uphold "sporting integrity".

They later withdrew their request after Boro furiously insisted they would resist that suggestion "in the strongest terms".

Chelsea then returned around 3,200 tickets to Boro, which were later put on sale to home fans.

Only supporters with an an away season ticket or a hospitality season ticket purchased prior to the government sanctions were able to attend.

But the Blues players produced a professional display on the pitch to book their place at Wembley next month.

Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech both got their names on the scoresheet as Chelsea beat the Championship outfit 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium.

And it was then confirmed on Sunday that they would be facing Palace for a spot in the final.

Manchester City will face either Nottingham Forest or Liverpool in the other semi-final.
