Coronation Street star lands new Hollyoaks role - weeks after his shock cobbles return was revealed
CORONATION Street star Anthony Crank has landed a new role in Hollyoaks.
The actor is best known for playing drug dealer and all-round bad egg Dean Turnbull on the cobbles and will be making a comeback later this year.
But in the meantime Anthony will be playing a character called Kenneth on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
Sharing the first look, he told his fans: “Ru-Vealing times at ‘The Loft Pride Party’ as Kenneth in @hollyoaksofficial as part of Jean Paul’s brilliant new storyline coming soon…
“Big love to the ever fragrant @thejamesutton and the fandabidosi @jonny_larkin for being beyond STELLAR 💪🏼😜.”
His followers rushed to comment on the news, with one person writing: “So exciting.”

Another added: “Well done @crankzter! Look forward to your characters and your journeys.”
And someone else wrote: “Yes mate, love it.”
The news comes after The Sun revealed he’s also heading back to Corrie as Dean.
Dean was last seen on Coronation Street last May when he left struggling Abi Webster for dead when she tricked him into admitting he stole a sports car from the garage.

She was forced to use it as a battering ram to escape a smoke-filled garage.
That came just days after he abandoned her when she went into surprise early labour with her baby.
A source said: “Dean’s back for a limited time but he’s just as dangerous as before.
“He’s got history with Abi but she’s not the only addict on the street that Dean knows - Cassie Plummer could be in his orbit too.
“It’s definitely one to watch.”
Actor Anthony is best known for hosting Sunday morning Channel 4 show T4 between 2002 and 2005.
Millions turned in in the noughties to watch Anthony and fellow T4 presenters like Alexa Chung, Rick Edwards and June Sarpong for the hangover television.
It’s not the first time Anthony has appeared in the soap with him playing a policeman in two appearances in 2011.
He also appeared in rival Hollyoaks before and went on to star in dramas Accused, Shameless and The Syndicate.
