Extreme Weight Loss star Brandi Mallorys untimely cause of death after losing 151lbs W
Brandi Mallory’s death shocked reality TV fans everywhere. It was announced that ABC‘s Extreme Weight Loss star had died at 40 in November. A month on, Brandi’s cause of death has been revealed.
Brandi Mallory’s cause of death
Brandi Mallory’s cause of death was revealed in an official autopsy report obtained by TMZ, which stated that her weight, enlarged heart, and some elevated blood indicators were suggestive of pre-diabetes.
They were all factors in her overall health. She did have marijuana and alcohol in her system at the time of her death, but the coroner claimed neither contributed to her “untimely” death.
The docs also stated there were no signs of a recent injury or reason to suspect foul play in her death. Brandi appeared on Extreme Weight Loss in 2014 and led dance workout classes.
She was found in Chipotle car park
Brandi Mallory was found dead in her vehicle in the parking lot of an Atlanta-area Chipotle on November 9. She had arrived at the restaurant, gone in, and returned to her car the day before.
Surveillance footage shows she never left the parking lot or got out of her car again. An owner of a nearby deli called police on that morning after he noticed the car remained there from the night before.
He told dispatchers the woman inside appeared to be sleeping. “There’s a girl laying in her car. She don’t look right. I’ve knocked on the hood. No movement. Doesn’t look like she’s breathing,” the caller said.

Brandi lost 151lbs, from 329lb to 178lb, and was on a self-love journey since going on Extreme Weight Loss. In a 2018 interview with Rare.us, she said her weight loss was inspired by a sorority sister’s death.
In the wake of Mallory’s death, Extreme Weight Loss host and trainer Chris Powell remembered her as “an incredible person”. He told People: “She really owned the body positivity movement.”
Brandi became trainer Chris Powell’s first client to compete in a Half Ironman, a brutal challenge that forced her to swim, bike, and run a combined 70.3 miles in under eight hours, and lose a pound a day.
