What is the Jaguar XF Sportbrake 2017? Hot new estate car from British-based manufacturer - Here's a

JAGUAR'S New XF Sportsbrake has now been unveiled.

Here's everything you need to know about the highly-anticipated 2017 model, which is to hit British showrooms later this year...

What is the Jaguar XF Sportsbrake 2017?

The XF Sportsbrake is a practical family car which is closely related to the XF saloon.

Jaguar’s prototype images show that the front looks the same - rounded grille and angular headlights.

It will have a much larger boot, of course – as much as 565 litres of cargo space (1,700-litres with seats folded).

There’s an activity key so you can swim, surf and play tennis without the need for a keyring tucked in your gym bag.

The new model will feature the same engine line up as the saloon version, including an efficient 2.0-litre diesel (which is capable of 70mpg in the saloon).

As well as this, the cabin and infotainment system will also be unchanged.

Unlike older estate cars, Jaguar have designed the vehicle to slope rearwards to avoid looking too boxy.

The Sporty S model features a supercharged 3.0-litre petrol V6 engine producing 375hp.

What cars is the XF Sportbrake 2017 up against?

Jaguar's new XF is to go head-to-head with the Audi A6 Avant and BMW 5 Series Touring.

The former has been specially designed to offer all the best features from Audi's large executive saloon in a more practical design.

It features a larger boot, strong engines and impressive infotainment options.

While the BMW 5 Series Touring is another premium estate model and it's based on the current BMW 5 Series saloon.

It boasts much of the same technology as the popular saloon, but has a larger boot and self-levelling rear air suspension.

Each vehicle comes complete with a luxurious and practical cabin and plenty of exciting tech features.

What is the Jaguar XF Sportbrake price and release date?

The XF Sportbrake prices range from £35,000 for entry level models to £55,000 for the sporty editions.

Although the car is available to order now, it won't be delivered until later this year.

Ian Callum, Jaguar director of design, said: “The iconic Jaguar posters of the 1950s promised customers grace, pace and space.

“The XF Sportbrake re-imagines this offer for 21st-century active families, with stunning looks, sports car performance and a load space fit for active lifestyles.”

When was the Jaguar XF Sportbrake official launched?

The launch event took place on June 14, with two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray unveiling the model.

The 2017 XF Sportsbrake reveal marks 10 years since the original XF was launched – and it’s also a decade since Murray won his first big title on tour.

The tennis legend showcased his skills in a warm up at a specially created pop-up Centre Court by Tower Bridge.

Passers-by got the opportunity to watch the athlete in action as well as catching a glimpse at the Jaguar XF Sportbrake 2017.

Other stars of the sporting world who attended included British heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua.
