Love Islands first ever blind contestant unrecognisable with long dark hair in throwback snaps

LOVE Island's Ron Hall has had quite the makeover to get ready for the villa.

The 25-year-old finance worker from Essex is currently in quarantine in South Africa ahead of Love Island's return next week.

But just a few years ago he was completely unrecognisable with his brown hair longer and slicked back in a way that would make Rick Astley proud.

Completely unrecognisable, it's amazing what a haircut and a makeover can do for a guy's confidence, with Ron now ready to take on the ITV2 series by storm as he joins this year's line-up.

As the first ever blind contestant on the series, Ron wants to prove that it makes little difference in how he lives his life - and hopes to "have good times and make memories" while in the villa.

He said ahead of the show launch: "On meeting me, you’d never know I am blind in one eye. It was the result of a football injury when I was 8; I went in for a header and got kicked in the face.

"I’ve got two different coloured eyes, one blue and one green. It’s added to my character, there are so many people that are worse off than me. And if anything, losing something like that makes you realise that.

"It’s not hindered me in any shape or form. It’s a good conversation starter I must admit."

Will he be able to find love in the winter series?

Love Island starts Monday, January 16 on ITV2.
