UV activated tattoos are the latest inking trend and they are incredible
WORRIED your parents won't approve of your new tattoo?
Ink fans are now getting light up UV body art, which looks absolutely amazing - and is easier to hide than your traditional tatt.
So how does it work? The black light tattoos are created using UV reactive fluoresce dye - meaning they're barely visible in daylight, and come to life when put under an ultraviolet bulb.
Some of the inks look like your standard colourful tatts, until they transform and glow in the dark when the light hits them.
Others are tastefully hidden unless under a UV light - making a subtler ink than your classic black scrawl.
Tattoo experts say the UV ink takes between 12 and 18 months to heal, and then becomes virtually invisible to the naked eye.
Are you tempted? These tattoos aren't that common yet, so make sure you do your research before going under the needle.
Does your chosen studio have experience in UV tatts? And what do their past attempts look like?
You should also be aware that these inkings take longer and cost more than traditional tattoos - although they do look pretty cool.
And we'd still advise caution if your job, or relationship with your parents, depends on you not having tattoos - as there will probably be some tell-tale marks.
