Victoria Pendleton joins Tinder in bid to get 'back in the saddle' after marriage split
VICTORIA Pendleton has joined Tinder in a bid to get back in the saddle after her marriage ended.
The 38-year-old Olympic cyclist is looking for love on the dating app after splitting from her husband Scott Gardner last July.
She has shared sexy pictures with her potential dates, including one of her drinking champagne, lounging in her dressing gown and reading a copy of the Racing Post on her profile.
A source told the Mirror that signing up to the app was "just a bit of fun".
It comes after she revealed how close she was to suicide after suffering from "severe depression".
The two-time Olympic gold cyclist had to abandon a charity climb up Mount Everest in May for medical reasons having spent 18 months training.
And Pendleton, who had recently divorced, admitted that her mental health rapidly deteriorated soon after arriving home.
She was prescribed antidepressants, tranquilisers and sleeping tablets – but before long, the London 2012 heroine, 38, was fantasising about ways to kill herself.
Victoria has since admitted having "good and bad days" as she battles her depression.
The sportswoman won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in the sprint.
She went on to win gold again at the 2012 London Olympics in the keirin and also got a silver before she retired from professional cycling.
She has also won nine World Championship golds, two European golds and godl at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
She later proved herself as a professional jockey and won her first race in March 2016 at Wincanton.
And the Olympian was even a contestant in the tenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with Brendan Cole.
Announcing her marriage breakdown in July, Victoria told her 289,000 followers: “After 10 years together I am very sad to say that Scott and I have grown apart, despite our best efforts in trying to make our marriage work.
“We have come to the decision to go our separate ways. It has been an extremely difficult time and a tough decision to make."
